In line with this year’s theme “Donating blood is an act of solidarity” Philippine Red Cross (PRC) Valenzuela City Chapter organized a Mass Blood Donation from August 11 to 12 in celebration of Mayor WES Gatchalian’s birthday. Volunteers from Philipine National Police - Valenzuela (PNP), Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), and students from Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Valenzuela (PLV) donate blood during the Mass Blood Donation Campaign for the celebration of Philippine Red Cross (PRC) Valenzuela City-Chapter and Valenzuela City Mayor WES Gatchalian held August 11 to 12, 2022 at the Valenzuela City Blood Bank and Volunteer Center, ALERT Center, Barangay Malinta, Valenzuela City. According to a volunteer nurse on duty, there is a huge demand in blood especially during the dengue season. Residence from other cities that are in need of blood comes to Valenzuela City’s blood bank asking for help. Students from Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Valenzuela (PLV) donate blood at the Mass Blood Donation organized in celebration of Mayor WES Gatchalian’s birthday on August 12, 2022 at the Valenzuela City Blood Bank and Volunteer Center, ALERT Center Compound, Barangay Malinta, Valenzuela City. According to them, this is under their Social Contract but it is not mandatory. However, students from PLV are the majority blood donors during the two-day activity held August 11 to 12.
